CDFN2MSOID - Chandra Deep Field North 2-Megasecond Optical & IR Catalog |
HEASARC Archive |
The X-ray sample is presented in Alexander et al. (2003, AJ, 126, 539, hereafter ABB2003) and in CDS Catalog <J/AJ/126/539>, and is also available in the HEASARC Browse system as the CHANDFN2MS table. The optical imaging data consist of Johnson B, Johnson V, Cousins R, Cousins I, and Sloan z' observations obtained with the Subaru prime-focus camera Suprime-Cam on the Subaru 8.2m telescope during February-April of 2001 and 2002.

Sequence_Number
The X-ray source sequence number taken from ABB2003
in order of increasing right ascension.
Name
The object designation using the prefix recommended by the
Dictionary of Nomenclature of Celestial Objects and implemented in the CDS
Simbad service. The authors describe an alternative form for these sources
using the Chandra X-Ray Observatory (CXO) naming convention: the prefix
"CXO HDFN J" together with the J2000 RA and declination, truncated to 0.1
seconds of time and 1 arcsecond, respectively. Thus, the object with
sequence_number of 1 and the J2000 position of 12 35 15.04, +62 14 07.0 has
the name of "[ABB2003] CDFN 1" here, and the alternate name of
"CXO HDFN J123515.0+621407".
RA_Xray
The Right Ascension of the X-Ray source in fixed J2000
coordinates taken from ABB2003.
Dec_Xray
The Declination of the X-Ray source in fixed J2000 coordinates
taken from ABB2003.
RA
The Right Ascension of the optical object at the position where the
aperture magnitudes were measured, in the selected equinox. This
was given in decimal degrees in the J2000 equinox in the original
table, and with a precision of 1E-06 degrees.
Dec
The Declination of the optical object at the position where the
aperture magnitudes were measured, in the selected equinox. This
was given in decimal degrees in the J2000 equinox in the original
table, and with a precision of 1E-05 degrees.
LII
The Galactic Longitude of the optical source.
BII
The Galactic Latitude of the optical source.
SB_Flux
The soft-band (0.5-2 keV) X-Ray flux, in erg/s/cm2, taken
from ABB2003.
HB_Flux
The hard-band (2-8 keV) X-Ray flux, in erg/s/cm2, taken from
ABB2003.
Rmag_Iso
The isophotal Cousins R Magnitude of the object.
HKmag
The corrected-aperture Wainscoat-Cowie HK' magnitude of the object.
Zmag
The corrected-aperture Sloan z' magnitude of the object.
Imag
The corrected-aperture Cousins I magnitude of the object.
Rmag
The corrected-aperture Cousins R magnitude of the object.
Vmag
The corrected-aperture Johnson V magnitude of the object.
Bmag
The corrected-aperture Johnson B magnitude of the object.
Umag
The corrected-aperture U-band magnitude of the object on
the AB-magnitude system, defined by mAB = -2.5log(fnu) - 48.60,
where fnu is the flux of the source in units of ergs/cm2/s/Hz.
Spect_Redshift
The spectroscopic redshift of the object, if available.
Flag_Spect_Redshift
A flag for the spectroscopic redshift, as follows:
o = Spectrum was obtained but no identification could be made; s = Star.
Phot_Redshift
The photometric redshift of the object, if available.
Spectrum_Type
A flag for the type of spectrum observed, as follows:
B = Spectrum has broad emission lines s = Less secure redshift identification based primarily on a single emission line and the continuum shape c = Redshift taken from Cohen et al., 2000, Cat. <J/ApJ/538/29> m = Complex or multiple structure or possible contamination of the photometry by a nearby brighter object
