CLANSOID - Chandra Lockman Area North Survey (CLANS) Optical & IR Catalog |
HEASARC Archive |
The optical and infrared photometric catalog for the CLANS X-ray sources is presented here (see the CLANS Browse table for the X-ray information). The CLANS and CLASXS surveys bridge the gap between the ultra-deep pencil-beam surveys, such as the CDFs, and the shallower, very large-area surveys. As a result, they probe the X-ray sources that contribute the bulk of the 2-8 keV X-ray background and cover the flux range of the observed break in the log N - log S distribution.

Source_Number
The CLANS source identification number, a unique identifier
in ascending order of J2000 Right Ascension.
Name
The CLANS source designation, based on the 'CLANS' prefix and the
source number, as recommended by the CDS Dictionary of Nomenclature of
Celestial Objects.
RA
The Right Ascension of the optical/near-infrared counterpart of the
X-ray source in the selected equinox. This was given in decimal degree
J2000.0 coordinates
to a precision of 10-3 degrees (3.6 arcsec) in the reference paper.
Dec
The Declination of the optical/near-infrared counterpart of the
X-ray source in the selected equinox. This was given in decimal degree
J2000.0 coordinates
to a precision of 10-3 degrees (3.6 arcsec) in the reference paper.
LII
The Galactic Longitude of the optical/near-infrared counterpart of the
X-ray source.
BII
The Galactic Latitude of the optical/near-infrared counterpart of the
X-ray source.
Gmag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band g-prime (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Rmag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band r-prime (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Imag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band i-prime (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Zmag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band z-prime (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Jmag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band J (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Hmag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band H (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Kmag
The aperture-corrected, broad-band K (AB) magnitude of the
optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. Typical photometric
uncertainties are given in Section 3.6 of the reference paper. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
IRAC_3p6_um_Mag
The Spitzer IRAC 3.6-micron (µm) band AB magnitude
of the optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
MIPS_24_um_Mag
The Spitzer MIPS 24-micron (µm) band AB magnitude
of the optical/near-infrared counterpart of the X-ray source. A null
value for the magnitude implies that the counterpart was not detected above
a 2-sigma significance level.
Redshift
The spectroscopic redshift zspec of the optical/near-infrared
counterpart of the X-ray source. zspec = 0 and a corresponding broad_type
value of -99 implies that the source was spectroscopically observed but
neither the redshift nor the class could be identified. zspec = -1 and the
corresponding broad_type value = -1 implies that the source had not yet been
spectroscopically observed. zspec = -2 and the corresponding broad_type
value = -2 implies that the source is a star.
Phot_Redshift
The photometric redshift zphot of the optical/near-infrared
counterpart of the X-ray source determined using the authors' template-fitting
technique. zphot = -3 means that the source has a
spectroscopic redshift. zphot = -99 means that the source has neither a
spectroscopic nor a photometric redshift.
Broad_Type
The optical spectral classification of the optical/near-infrared
counterpart of the X-ray source. A class value of 0 implies an absorber,
a class of 1, a star former, a class of 3, a high-excitation source, and
a class of 4, a broad-line AGN.
