HIIREGION - Sharpless H II Regions |
HEASARC Archive |
Name
The Sharpless H II catalog number. An alternate naming convention exists for
these Sharpless HII Regions: S 3 is also referred to as Sh 2-3, and S 53 is
also known as Sh 2-53, and so forth.
RA_1950
Right Ascension, 1950 coordinates
Dec_1950
Declination, 1950 coordinates
LII
The galactic longitude of the object.
BII
The galactic latitude of the object.
Diameter
This is the maximum angular diameter of the H II region in minutes of arc.
Owing to the diffuse nature of many of the objects, the diameters may have an
uncertainty up to an order of 20 percent.
Form
The form of the region. This is classified as follows: 1 = circular,
2 = elliptical, and 3 = irregular.
Structure
The structure of the region. This is classified from 1 = amorphous to
3 = filamentary.
Bright
The brightness of the region. This is classified from 1 = faintest to
3 = brightest.
Stars
Stars is the number of associated stars with the H II region. The individual
stars are given in a subsequent table in the published catalog, but are not
available in this version of the catalog.
RA_1900
The Right Ascension of the object, in 1900 coordinates.
Dec_1900
The Declination of the object, in 1900 coordinates.
RA
The Right Ascension of the object.
Dec
The Declination of the object.
CRA
Right Ascension, sexagesimal, J2000 coordinates
CDec
Declination, sexagesimal, J2000 coordinates
Lund_Glon
The galactic longitude of the object, based on the Lund pole, in units of
degrees.
Lund_Glat
The galactic latitude of the object, based on the Lund pole, in units of
degrees.
IAU_Glon
The galactic longitude of the object, based on the IAU galactic coordinates
system. This value was obtained from the computer (precessed) equatorial
coordinates (1950). Units are degrees.
IAU_Glat
The galactic latitude of the object, based on the IAU galactic coordinates
system. This value was obtained from the computer (precessed) equatorial
coordinates (1950). Units are degrees.
