NGC5866CXO - NGC 5866 Chandra X-Ray Point Source Catalog |
HEASARC Archive |
The Chandra/ACIS observation of NGC 5866 was taken on 2002 November 14. The authors reprocessed the archived data for their study. See Figure 1 in the reference paper for the Chandra/ACIS-S image of NGC 5866 in the 0.3-7 keV band. This table contains the detected X-ray point sources listed in table 2 of this paper.

Source_Number
A unique sequential identification number for each X-ray source in the
catalog, sorted in order of increasing J2000.0 Right Ascension.
Name
The name of the Chandra source using the "CXOU" prefix (for Chandra X-ray
Observatory Unregistered source) and the J2000.0 coordinates of the source in
the "JHHMMSS.ss+DDMMSS.s" format.
RA
The Right Ascension of the Chandra X-ray source in the selected equinox. This
parameter was derived by the HEASARC from the CXOU source name and thus is
precise only to 0.01 seconds of time (and truncated).
Dec
The Declination of the Chandra X-ray source in the selected equinox. This
parameter was derived by the HEASARC from the CXOU source name and thus is
precise only to 0.1 arcseconds (and truncated).
LII
The Galactic Longitude of the Chandra X-ray source.
BII
The Galactic Latitude of the Chandra X-ray source.
Error_Radius
The 1-sigma positional uncertainty of the X-ray source, in arcseconds. This
is calculated from the maximum likelihood centroiding error and an
approximate off-axis angle (r) dependent systematic error, namely 0.2" +
1.4"*(r/8')2 (an approximation to Fig. 4 of Feigelson et al. 2002, ApJ,
574, 258), which are added in quadrature.
Count_Rate
The on-axis exposure-corrected count rate of the X-ray source in the entire
(broad-band) 0.3-7 keV energy range, in ct/s (converted by the HEASARC from
the ct/ks units used in the original table). This is the sum of the
exposure-corrected count rates in the four individual bands (0.3-0.7 keV
(S1), 0.7-1.5 keV (S2), 1.5-3 keV (H1), and 3-7 keV (H2)) that were used in
this study.
Count_Rate_Error
The uncertainty in the on-axis exposure-corrected count rate of the X-ray
source in the entire (broad-band) 0.3-7 keV energy range, in ct/s (converted
by the HEASARC from the ct/ks units used in the original table).
Hardness_Ratio
The hardness ratio HR of the Chandra source, Defined as HR = (H-S2)/(H+S2),
where S1 = 0.3-0.7 keV, S2 = 0.7-1.5 keV, H = 1.5-7 keV, S = 0.3-1.5 keV.
This is listed only for values with uncertainties less than 0.2.
Hardness_Ratio_Error
The uncertainty in the hardness ratio HR of the Chandra source.
Hardness_Ratio_1
The hardness ratio HR1 of the Chandra source, Defined as HR1 = (S2-S1)/S,
where S1 = 0.3-0.7 keV, S2 = 0.7-1.5 keV, H = 1.5-7 keV, S = 0.3-1.5 keV.
This is listed only for values with uncertainties less than 0.2.
Hardness_Ratio_1_Error
The uncertainty in the hardness ratio HR1 of the Chandra source.
Detect_Flags
This parameter contains labels that mark the bands in which a source is
detected with the most accuracy and that were used to derive the quoted
source position, as follows:
S = soft band (0.3-1.5 keV) H = hard band (1.5-7.0 keV) B = broad band (0.3-7.0 keV)
