VLA3701P4 - VLA A370 Cluster of Galaxies 1.4-GHz Source Catalog |
HEASARC Archive |
The authors observed the A370 cluster field with the VLA in the A configuration for ~42.4hr on-source during 1999 August and September. K. S. Dwarakanath observed A370 in the B configuration for ~18.4hr on-source during 1994 August and September. The field center is located at 02:39:32 -01:35:07 (J2000). This is offset by approximately 5 arcminutes from the cluster center at 02:39:50.5 -01:35:08.
The authors also targeted 58 radio sources, in A370, that had no existing optical spectral data using the Hydra fiber spectrograph on the Wisconsin-Indiana-Yale-NOAO (WIYN) telescope (spectral window of ~4500 - 9500 Angstrom). They preferentially targeted optically bright galaxies, obtaining these data in a single two-hour pointing on 2012 January 20. Of the 58 targets, the authors obtained high-confidence redshifts for 36.

Source_Number
A unique identification number for each source in the catalog from 0 to 698.
Name
The preferred IAU source designation for the radio source using the
'[WOW2012] A370' prefix recommended by the CDS Dictionary of Nomenclature of
Celestial Objects and the source number value, e.g., '[WOW2012] A370 0'.
RA
The Right Ascension of the radio source in the selected equinox. This was
given in J2000.0 coordinates to a precision of 0.01 seconds of time in the
original table.
RA_Error
The uncertainty in the Right Ascension of the radio source, in arcseconds.
Dec
The Declination of the radio source in the selected equinox. This was given
in J2000.0 coordinates to a precision of 0.01 arcseconds in the original
table.
Dec_Error
The uncertainty in the Declination of the radio source, in arcseconds.
LII
The Galactic Longitude of the radio source.
BII
The Galactic Latitude of the radio source.
SNR_1p4_GHz
The peak 1.4-GHz signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the radio source.
Int_Flux_1p4_GHz
The total flux density of the radio source at 1.4 GHz, in mJy (converted by
the HEASARC from the uJy units used in the original table).
Int_Flux_1p4_GHz_Error
The uncertainty in the total flux density of the radio source at 1.4 GHz, in
mJy (converted by the HEASARC from the uJy units used in the original table).
Major_Axis
For resolved sources, the best-fit deconvolved Gaussian major axis (FWHM) of
the radio source, in arcseconds.
Minor_Axis
For resolved sources, the best-fit deconvolved Gaussian minor axis (FWHM) of
the radio source, in arcseconds.
Position_Angle
For resolved sources, the best-fit position angle of the major axis of the
radio source, in degrees
Size_Constraint
This parameter is the major axis upper limit, in arcseconds, for unresolved
sources, or the maximum size, in arcseconds, for very resolved sources.
Beam_Size
The beam size (resolution) of the image used in the source extraction, in
arcseconds.
Redshift
The spectroscopic redshift of the radio source. 200 of the 699 sources have
known redshifts.
Ref_Redshift
The reference code for the source of the spectroscopic redshift, as follows:
