XMMPUBLIC - XMM-Newton Public Archive of U.S. Observations |
HEASARC Archive |
Notice that Guest Observer (GO) observations which have non-US Principal Investigators (PIs) are not presently available in the HEASARC Archive, and hence are not listed in this table, even after their official public date (given in the public_date parameter in the Browse XMMLOG table, q.v.). Such observations, however, should be available in the ESA XMM Science Archive at http://xmm.esac.esa.int/xsa/ to which anyone seeking such datasets should refer.
XMM ODF Basic Data: This is a gzipped TAR file of the basic data files. XMM Processing Documentation: This category contains the Scientific Validation Report in PDF and PostScript formats, as well as the .ASC Pipeline Report file which includes such basic information as the target name, PI name, and other basic observatin information. XMM Pipeline Products: This is a collection of TAR files, containing the processed output of the XMM Processing Pipeline. The following a table of the individual TAR files and a description of the contents of each file. ObsID
A unique XMM-Newton observation identifier.
PNo
The XMM-Newton proposal number to which the observation belongs.
Name
The name of the target of the XMM-Newton pointing.
RA
The nominal right ascension of the XMM-Newton pointing, in the requested
equinox. Notice that the originating table contained the position in equinox
J2000 with RA given to a precision of 0.01 seconds of time.
Dec
The nominal declination of the XMM-Newton pointing, in the requested
equinox. Notice that the originating table contained the position in equinox
J2000 with declination given to a precision of 0.1 arcseconds.
LII
The galactic longitude of the XMM-Newton pointing.
BII
The galactic latitude of the XMM-Newton pointing.
Duration
The duration of the observation in seconds.
Time
The start time of the observation in UT. Notice that the originating
table gave the start time given to a precision of 0.01 seconds.
XMM_Revolution
The XMM-Newton revolution number in which the observation
occurred, i.e., the number of 48-hour orbits which had elapsed since the
launch of XMM-Newton.
Observer
The principal investigator of the observation.
Process_Date
The date in which the data was processed.
