INTBSC - INTEGRAL Bright Source Catalog |
HEASARC Archive |
The Bright Source Catalog is a collaborative effort between the INTEGRAL Science Data Center (ISDC) in Switzerland and the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) INTEGRAL Guest Observer Facility (GOF). The results presented here are a result of a semi-automated analysis and they should be considered as approximate: they are intended to serve as a guideline to those interested in pursuing more detailed follow-up analyses.
The data from the imager ISGRI (Lebrun et al. 2003, A&A, 411, L141) have been analyzed at the INTEGRAL Science Data Centre (ISDC), while the SPI (Vedrenne et al. 2003, A&A, 411, L63) data analysis was performed at GSFC as a service of the INTEGRAL GOF.
Further information and analysis results can be found linked from the INTEGRAL GOF page at the URL http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/integral/integralgof.html
Type Description SPI lightcurve (20 - 40 keV) in ASCII format ISGRI lightcurve (22 - 40 keV and 40 - 80 keV) in ASCII format and as a JPEG plot; Note: a count rate of 97.3 cps (22 - 40 keV) and 64.4 cps (40 - 80 keV) corresponds to 1 Crab ISGRI analysis summary for all analyzed observations and the two energy bins in ASCII format
Name
The INTEGRAL Bright Source Catalog designation of the source.
Source_Type
The source type according to a classification scheme
which contains the following acronyms, among others:
source_type Meaning BHC Black Hole Candidate HMXB High-Mass X-ray Binary LMXB Low-Mass X-Ray Binary SNR Supernova Remnant Sy Seyfert Galaxy XB X-ray Binary
RA
The Right Ascension of the source in the specified equinox, given in
J2000 equatorial coordinates and to a precision of 1 second of time in the
originating table.
Dec
The Declination of the source in the specified equinox, given in
J2000 equatorial coordinates and to a precision of 1 second of time in the
originating table.
LII
The Galactic Longitude of the source.
BII
The Galactic Latitude of the source.
ISGRI_Detections
The number of pointings in which the source was detected
by the ISGRI instrument.

SPI_Remarks
Any remarks regarding the SPI analysis. This field may include
an embedded link to a web page with more information on the SPI analysis.
ISGRI_Soft_Rate
The IBIS/ISGRI 22-40 keV average count rate, in counts per second, based on
measurements with at least a 1.5-sigma significance. A count rate of 90 ct/s
corresponds to 1 Crab.

The uncertainty in the IBIS/ISGRI 22-40 keV average count rate, in counts per
second.
ISGRI_Hard_Rate
The IBIS/ISGRI 40-80 keV average count rate, in counts per second, based on
measurements with at least a 1.5-sigma significance. A count rate of 66 ct/s
corresponds to 1 Crab.
ISGRI_Hard_Rate_Error
The uncertainty in the IBIS/ISGRI 40-80 keV average count rate, in counts per
second.
Class
The HEASARC Browse object classification, based on the value of
the source_type parameter.
