2EG J2020+4026 IDENTIFICATION OF A BRIGHT GALACTIC GAMMA-RAY SOURCE
ABSTRACT
EGRET has found more than 30 gamma-ray sources near the galactic plane (gb <+-10deg). Most of sources have not been identified yet, except for five gamma-ray loud pulsar, such as Geminga. 2EG J20202+4026 is one of the brightest unidetified EGRET source with the smallest error circle, which sits almost center of the Gamma Cygni SNR. Based on the result in the previous ASCA observation, we propose to have a follow up observation to identify the origin of the gamma-ray emission.
