M33 --- AN UNUSUAL NUCLEAR SOURCE IN A NEARBY GALAXY
ABSTRACT
Is the nuclear source of M33 a black hole binary or an AGN? This is a question presented by the ASCA observations in PV phase. This question is of importance not only for understanding the host galaxy M33 but also for understanding evolution of galaxy in general, because recent results of ROSAT indicate similar unual nuclear source exist in other galaxies, e.g. NGC 3628. We consider follow-up observations of this galaxy can answer the question. We expect to detect time variablity by comparing PV and the new observations. The spectral variation is a key observatinal feature which characterize a black hole binary.
