ARE THERE TWO TYPES OF ELLIPTICAL GALAXIES?
ABSTRACT
We propose to observe an X-ray faint elliptical galaxy NGC3923 for 200 ksec, in order to accurately quantify its radial X-ray brightness profile. If its radial profile can be expressed by a single beta model, we are convinced that X-ray faint galaxies differ in their potential structure from X-ray luminous ellipticals, which generally have larger-scale outer potential structure.
