ASCA OBSERVATIONS OF OPTICALLY QUIET QUASAR CANDIDATES
ABSTRACT
Optically quiet quasars(OQQs) are compact radio-loud and X-ray-bright active gal actic nuclei with very weak optical continuum emission. Several explanations hav e been proposed for the inverted spectral energy distribution of OQQs but the na ture of this class of object is yet unknown. We propose observations of two OQQs candidates with ASCA in order to clarify the emission mechanism of OQQs and its possible contribution for CXB spectrum.
