AN X-RAY SURVEY OF GALACTIC GEV SOURCES

ABSTRACT

We are completing a survey of the bright Galactic sources detected above 1 GeV. We propose here to observe two gamma-ray sources in the Cygnus region. With the spectral constraints from the ASCA data and archival radio data we will be able to identify AGN seen through the plane and pulsar wind nebula candidates for the GeV source counterparts. The exposures proposed here and to the Japanese TAC will complete a flux-limited search of the Galactic GeV sources and provide an important probe of the unidentified gamma-ray population.
