The northern middle lobe of Centaurus A
ABSTRACT
We propose to observe the northern middle lobe of the nearby radio galaxy Centaurus A. The previous ASCA short term (6ks) observation result from the target suggests of a diffuse non-thermal emission from the lobe. We are aiming to reveal the emission mechanism with this follow up observation. If the X-ray emission arise via inverse-Compton scattering of the cosmic microwave background photons as we see in a number of radio lobes, we will be measure the energy densities of magnetic field and electrons in the lobe, to see energy distributions towards the outer lobe which we have observed with ASCA and Beppo-SAX.
