Previous: Running the Program
The MAPGEN program has been modified (from IBM MVS)
to run in a windowing environment
on Sun4 and Sun SPARCstations. The input phase requires the windowing
environment to display the XView windows, however that portion of the
program may be bypassed by reading the namelist file directly, in which
case any terminal would do.
The program size (when running on the Sun4 machines) is about 1 megabyte
although only a fraction of that needs to be resident at any time. Therefore
the amount of available memory should not be a major problem and the
program will run even if a much larger program such as INTMAP is also
running.
