Submitting Files
- The intent is to display view graphs or poster materials; copies of the article you plan
to submit for the proceedings are inappropriate. This is a violation
of copyright laws.
- For small files (<2 MB) you may email them directly to the webmaster at:
myersjd@milkyway.gsfc.nasa.gov.
Please include in the email your name and whether the file contains your presentation slides,
your write-up, or your poster.
- For files over 2 MB, please use anonymous ftp to send your files. PLEASE READ
ALL of the following before submitting anything.
- Submitted files will be linked to the GAMMA 2001 Presentations
and Posters page as soon possible after they are received.
To ftp your file(s):
- ftp to: lheaftp.gsfc.nasa.gov
If you have your browser configured to use an ftp program for ftp
links, you may just follow the link above to reach the server.
- login as:
- username: anonymous
- password: your email address (e.g., joe@fun.com)
- change directories:
- cd pub
- cd incoming
- Set the transfer type (BINARY or ASCII).
- Confirm your filenames conform to the naming guidelines below. Filenames MUST
following these guidelines in order to be received properly.
- Submit your files.
Guideline for Filenames
- Any files that do not follow this naming scheme will be deleted by automated
processes. Once a file has been uploaded, it will be immediately moved and you will
not be able to delete it, or even see it at this location.
- Since we will be receiving 3 types of files from people, please use the following
filenaming scheme:
- myersjd.filename
-
- where the filename is: lastname_type.extension
- type: poster, slides, writeup
- extension: ps, eps, txt, gif, jpg, doc, pdf, ppt, etc.
- Example1: John Doe is submitting a poster in eps format. The filename would be:
- myersjd.doe_poster.eps
- Example 2: Donald Duck is submitting his slides in PowerPoint. The filename would be:
- myersjd.duck_slides.ppt
- If you are submitting more than one file of the same type, please
include a 1, 2, 3, etc in the file name after the type. (e.g., myersjd.doe_poster2.eps)
