This figure shows an exploded view of the ROSAT satellite along with the launch configuration. ROSAT was launched into orbit by a Delta II rocket which required that the solar panels be stowed. Once in orbit, the solar panels, mirror doors for both the X-ray Telescope (XRT) and Wide-Field Camera (WFC), and antenna were deployed.
