Broad-band Spectra of Black Hole Binaries

Cyg X-1 and GRO J1655-40

Credit: ISAS/JAXA

Unfolded spectra of two black hole binaries, Cyg X-1 and GRO J1655-40 are shown, illustrating the simultaneous broad-band coverage provided by Suzaku. By combining data from XIS, HXD/PIN and HXD/GSO, these bright X-ray binaries are detected strongly from <1 keV to >200 keV.
