Getting Help in Xspec

There are multiple places to get help with using Xspec.

  • The PyXspec manual [HTML] [PDF] gives specfic guidance for using Xspec's Python interface.
  • The Release Notes provide details about updates in the latest Xspec version.
  • The Issues & Patches page has a list of bugs which are patched in the latest update.
  • The FAQ page offers troubleshooting and additional guidance for common questions.
  • See PyXspec-specific troubleshooting for problems that PyXspec users may encounter.
  • Use HEASP [HTML] [PDF], a C/C++/Python library, to manipulate files associated with high energy astrophysics spectroscopic analysis, including table models.
  • The Xspec Facebook group [external] is an way to ask questions from others in the community.
  • If help is still needed after exploring the above options, please submit a question via the feedback form (selecting XANADU from the drop down menu).
