1. New ABC guide for V2.x processed data

A fully revised version of the data analysis ("ABC") guide,
appropriate for V2.x processed data, is now available:

   http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/suzaku/analysis/abc/

Note that it is already somewhat out of date: the two items below
(GSO background and updated calibration of the XIS contamination
build-up) will be incorporated into the next version of the ABC
guide.

We have also updated the "Things to Watch Out For" page,
reflecting the recent changes:

2. V2.x background files for GSO available

The HXD team has released the V2.x background files for the GSO
for observations through 2007 November.  For download (from HEASARC;
the originals can be found at ISAS/JAXA) instructions and usage,
please see:

3. Updated calibration of contamination build-up

The XIS team has released an updated calibration of the contamination
build-up, which is now available in the 2008-01-14 release of the
Suzaku CALDB.  Users who are analyzing XIS data taken since 2007
April should re-generate the arf files using the latest calibration
files.  For details, please read:

4. XIS night earth background update

The latest release of the Suzaku CALDB also includes a new version of
the XIS non X-ray background database, in a format designed for easy
use via the xisnxbgen tool (newly released in Version 7 of Suzaku
FTOOLS)

5. E-mail exploder change

The U.S. Suzaku electronic newsletter (suzakunews) --- yes, the one that
your are reading right now --- will be moving to a new listserv in
the near future. All working addresses will be migrated automatically,
and directions on how to update your address on the list, if needed,
will be sent at the time of migration.

If you use email filtering software, the emails will stop coming from
suzakunews@bigbang.gsfc.nasa.gov, and will start coming from
suzakunews@lists.nasa.gov. Each email will still have the
"Suzaku News #"  as the beginning of the subject line.
