Rossi XTE Cycle 10 Call for Proposals as Part of NASA's ROSS-04
Dear Colleague,
The NASA Research Announcement (NRA) entitled "Research Opportunities
in Space Science - 2004" (ROSS-2004), released in January, 2004,
solicits proposals for participation in the NASA program for the
conduct of scientific investigations using the Rossi X-ray Timing
Explorer observatory for its tenth cycle of scientific observations.
This email notice is intended as a reminder to interested scientists
about the schedule, and provides pointers to further technical
information concerning the RXTE mission. Cycle 10 covers observations
for a 1-year period commencing in March 2005. The ROSS-04 Announcement
may be reviewed at:
http://research.hq.nasa.gov/code_s/nra/current/NNH04ZSS001N/index.html.
Materials are now available to support PIs who wish to submit guest
observer proposals for RXTE Cycle 10. See the RXTE GOF's Proposals and
Tools Web Page for all necessary instructions and steps for submitting a
proposal at:
http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/xte/xhp_prop_tools.html.

As was the case the last two years, this will be a two-stage
review. Successful science PIs at US institutions will be invited to
submit budget proposals at a date after the November 2004 science
review. We encourage all interested scientists to propose your ideas for
RXTE Cycle 10. As always, should you have questions during proposal
preparation contact the RXTE Guest Observer Facility at
http://rxte.gsfc.nasa.gov/ for support. Good luck with your proposals!
