G.2 Files Containing Spectral Models

Certainly, it is not easy to analyse spectra of cosmic X-ray sources automaticly. But to cover at least most of the spectral types beside a blackbody and a simple power law model it is necessary to compare the spectra with a thermal emission line model like a Raymond-Smith model. This complex model needs a lot of information about the excitation of atoms which is stored in the data file v$manpar:tbray.bid. To give the user a vivid illustration typical Raymond-Smith spectra are plotted in Figure G.7 at four different temperatures.

Figure G.7:   Raymond-Smith spectra for temperatures of 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 MK at 729 energy channels. The basic information was taken from files v$manpar:tbray.bid and v$manpar:egrid.bid.
