All positions on the sky ultimately refer to the equatorial reference system for the mean equinox 2000.0, with cartesian coordinates , and the equivalent polar coordinate frame under the equatorial system (Right ascension , declination ). The ecliptic coordinate system ( ) was also used (particularly for the data storage, image, source analysis during the survey phase), with equivalent polar coordinates ecliptic longitude ( ) and latitude ( ).
