RXTE Workshop Agenda
|
The Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer continues to successfully observe new and previously know X-ray transients, new types of X-ray variability, and new multiwavelength correlations, since its launch in 1995. Every two years, NASA commissions a Senior Review which assess the productivity and relevance of operating astrophysics missions. Expecting to submit a proposal to this review, the RXTE team is soliciting input from the scientific community about the most exciting science topics that the mission can address over the next few years. An RXTE workshop is planned as a splinter session to follow the Fermi Symposium in Washington, D.C. on November 5, 2009 from 2-5:30pm. Short talks from community members about exciting RXTE science will be given, and general discussion about the future of the RXTE mission will occur. The room will be announced later. No registration is required for attending this workshop alone, but we are having the workshop at this time to give community members an opportunity to participate in both the RXTE workshop and the Fermi Symposium (see the Fermi website). RXTE workshop talks will be 10 minutes. Please contact RXTE Project Scientist (Jean.Swank @ nasa.gov) or Deputy Project Scientist (Tod.E.Strohmayer @ nasa.gov) if you have questions. |
