PLEASE NOTE:

The RXTE satellite was decommissioned on January 5, 2012, after 16 years of science operations. Hence the only research opportunities are archival. All RXTE data are now publicly available from the RXTE archive. The tools and links below are presented to aid in analyses of these data.

Planning Tools

Source Contamination Finder - Finds X-ray sources from several catalogs within a specified angular distance from a specified target (see also "HEXTErock", below)
HEXTErock - HEXTE cluster background positions on the sky; useful for detecting source contamination in HEXTE background data.
W3PIMMS - count rates and exposure times
WebSpec - WWW interface for XSPEC
RXTE Efficiency - PCA and HEXTE efficiency curves
